Power Ghouls: Codex by TheOldFrontier Power Ghouls: Codex by TheOldFrontier
Real Name:Matilda Carter
Alias (power ghouls name):Codex
Super powers: Turns book contents into real objects, magic bricks (used with Egyptian books of the dead), shadow manipulation, becomes a shadow creature when in her true form.
Alliance:Good
Note: Her hair is black, not gray. The colors were changed due to poor lightning.
At last, I managed to come up with a good suit for this ghoulfriend, there's a pretty good reason why I chose her code name Codex, naming her after the Codex Umbra and her relation with books. She is able to bring items and creatures mentioned in books to life. For example, if the word "horse" is mentioned, she can pull an actual, living horse out of the book. This also applies to pictures as well.
About the magic bricks inspired by the ones in the tombs of real life mummies of the New Kingdom, these were handcrafted by Matty herself but their activation spells were written by some of her close Egyptian mummy friends in hieroglyphs. Traditionally, only 4 bricks are used at a time and placed in four different corners representing north, south, east and west but in some occasions, Matilda uses more during big attacks. By doing so, the enemy will be surrounded as soon as the bricks are activated and shadow creatures spawn from them, making the enemy more vulnerable. She keeps these bricks and its spells in a basket on her back.
If there are no books, magazines, newspapers around and if her basket was stolen, she has a last resort: shadow manipulation. It is her natural ability, however, the brighter the room and the more sane the enemy, her power will be useless, the shadows creatures cannot do anything to the target.
